Credit and Refund Policy

Refunds are based on the percentage of modules or lessons (as defined by the WorkForce Board of Washington which licenses vocational schools) fully completed. 


For purposes of this policy, partially completed modules or lessons will not count as completed. 


CANCELLATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF REGISTRATION:

There is NO charge for unfinished modules cancelled within 14 days of registration, all tuition fees paid or billed are fully refundable.

 

CANCELLATION AFTER 14 DAYS AND WITHIN 6 MONTHS (180 DAYS) OF REGISTRATION:

After 14 days and within 6 months (180 days) of the registration date, the following refund policy applies to completed modules or lessons:


  • Completed 0% through 10% of total lesson/modules the school will retain 10% of the total tuition fees paid or billed


  • Completed 11% through 25% of total lessons/modules the school will retain 25% of the total tuition fees paid or billed  


  • Completed 26% through 50% of total lessons/modules the school will retain 50% of the total tuition fees paid or billed 


  • Completed 51% or greater of total lessons/modules the school will retain 100% of the total tuition fees paid or billed



CANCELLATION AFTER 6 MONTHS (180 DAYS) OF REGISTRATION:

No Refunds or Credits are available 6 months (180 days) after the original enrollment date, regardless of if the course has been accessed.



REFUND EXAMPLES:


Refund Example #1:  

Example student purchased HCA Learning Plan 1 ($664) and cancels within 45 days of registration. HCA Learning Plan 1 is comprised of 19 modules (or lessons as defined by the WorkForce Board). The example student completed 8 out of 19 lessons, or 42% of their lessons. According to the policy, the student is entitled to a 50% refund of tuition fees paid. The cost of HCA Learning Plan 1 is $664, therefore the refund would be $332.


  • Orientation & Safety:  $20 – Completed 
  • Dementia Level 1:  $118 –  Completed 
  • Mental Health Level 1:  $118 – Did Not Complete
  • CB101: $15 - Completed
  • CB102:  $15 - Completed
  • CB103:  $15 - Completed
  • CB104:  $15 - Completed
  • CB105:  $15 - Completed
  • CB106:  $15 - Did Not Complete
  • CB107:  $15 - Did Not Complete

Refund Example #2:

Example student purchased Nurse Delegation ($70) and Nurse Delegation Focus on Diabetes ($55) and cancels both courses (or lessons as defined by the WorkForce Board) within 90 days of registration. The example student completed 1 out of 2 courses (50% of lessons completed), according to this policy this will entitle the student to a 50% refund of tuition fees paid. The cost of these modules combined is $125, the refund would be $62.50.


  • Nurse Delegation:  $70 – Complete
  • Nurse Delegation Focus on Diabetes:  $55 – Partially Completed


Refund Example #3:

Example student purchased Orientation & Safety ($20), partially completed it and cancels within 36 days of registration. The example student did not complete a course (0% lessons completed) as defined by the WorkForce Board. According to this policy, the student is entitled to a 90% refund of tuition fees paid. The cost of this module is $20, so the refund would be $18.00.


  • Orientation & Safety:  $20 – Partially Completed

 


FEES AND LIMITATIONS:


Core Basic Skills Labs No-Show Fee. 48 hour advance notice of Skills Lab cancellation is required.  The no show fee is $40/per day.  No show fees are billed to the employer for all employer requested/billed training as Cornerstone has no financial agreement in place with the individual student.  We do not bill individual students, students who enroll independently of an employer must pay in advance for their modules.  We encourage employers to create a training contract with your employee so that you may recoup these fees from them in the event of a no show.


Course fees are non-transferable.  We are required to keep detailed records on each enrolled HCA student and a clear payment history is part of that requirement.  Training fees paid cannot be transferred to a new student/employee.


Upon request, we will disclose any training fees paid to us, even when paid by a student’s employer.  This is to maintain transparency and ethics as required by the WorkForce Board of Washington.


We cannot bill individual Core Basic modules. If you wish to purchase and pay for Core Basic modules individually you will need to use the self-registration option within the Catalog and pay by credit/debit card. Call the office you require assistance or instructions on how to accomplish this.


Courses expire one year (365 days) from the original registration date.
